He is ready for football all day every now! And at the same time he is taking after Andy and rounding out his head. 2 of my boys grew flat heads. 2 of my boys grew round heads. 1 of my boys may have laid on his head too much because he would hang out in his car seat/ crib/ bouncer happily when I needed to put him down- he has a round head, without a helmet. The 2 that had helmets started their life with food allergies- diarrhea's, crying and always being held-- so I blame the flat head on malnourishment (all that diarrhea means their little bodies were not getting the goods out of what they were eating). In other Nielsen news we are fixing all our food problems by fixing our digestive system by doing the GAPS diet. It has been about 2 months and I think it is doing wonders for our wonderful kids!

We had a great labor day weekend boating on our river that's 2 blocks away, and we don't even need a trailer for our new boats (Thanks Mom!))

He is five whole years old! He had a great brithday! Logan had big first and second birthdays with lots of friends and presents and fun, then third and forth brithdays were both right after we moved, so no friends and almost no presents, and not all that great, but his firth was a big fun deal!

And by that I mean he is better!!!! He's happy! He sleeps better! No blood in his poop! He now drinks fancy Ellacare formula- it stinks and he gags if he spits up at all, but it works for him! I now eat whatever I want, and there is alot of really good food- so I gained 5 lbs in this first week- oops! I love Stanford and his yucky formula and his cute smile!!

Happy 4th of July! Stanford loved the fireworks! He woke up when they started and couldn't take his eyes off them the whole time.

See his cute little skinny body with a cute chubby face? I have been trying to chunk him up since he was 5 days old and noticed he had yucky mucusy poops. Andy had that same problem, and was allergic to milk, so I stopped eating all dairy, but Stanford didn't get better. His doc then told me to stop eating the top 8 food babies are allergic to - dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish for a few weeks, and when that didn't work I moved on to the lovely Total Elimination Diet (TED) which is just eating turkey, lamb, rice, squash, pears, salt, pepper, sugar, and olive oil. yuck! At first he started to get better, and I tried a few new foods, Potatoes-no good! eggs- no good! milk-no good! peanuts-no good -the saddest food news I have ever heard, life is much harder without pb! I haven't tried any new foods for a few weeks, and his diapers are still sad. It has been more than 3 months of being on a Super Stanford diet and he has bad news in every dirty diaper, but he does sleep better now, and doesn't cry all the time anymore, but I am so hungry for some good food, and I really want him to get better!

Anyone know anything about this or do you have any advice for me?

We stopped off in DC for some fun on our way to DE. It was our first time visiting a place we have lived before and we weren't planning on visiting our old apartment, but when we drove in near Alexandria it was all coming back to me we had to go see it, and it was fun! Hopefully this summer we can go to Boston and Santa Barbara in the fall.
We like it here in Delaware, so hopefully we will be back next year for good :)- wouldn't that be nice to be somewhere for good?

It was so fun to go to a horse race! It was a rainy day and we didn't think we would last long, but we stayed for over 2 hours cause we were all loving it. I think anything would be tons of fun wearing a fancy hat. We all picked a horse each race and Andrew's won first, then Logan and I won. Doyle's and Andy's didn't win, so we're going back next year! I heard it is always right after graduation, so how about y'all come out for that and stay for the race!

Stanford's brothers LOVE him! They always want to hold him and help wash him and kiss him and snuggle him. For a special treat sometimes Stanford will tuck them in (lay next to them in their beds for a minute) and they love it, even if Stanford is screaming.

Here is baby Stanford Andrew Nielsen! He is sooo cute! He was a fairly big guy at 8 lbs 8.6 ozs (almost a pound bigger than his next biggest brother), but still only 19 inches (the shortest of all 4). Which means all that weight went to his cheeks and manly chest. He was born at 2:48pm and hasn't cried much, just like his happy-go-lucky older brother Doyle. He and Lizzy are now fast asleep. Both are healthy and well. Thanks for all your prayers!

We can't decide which older brother he looks like, or which parent for that matter. What do you think?

It snowed! And we got 2 and a half snow days out of a couple inches on the floor, it makes the snow much more fun if schools out!

These sleds were a huge hit! It doesn't snow that much around here, so no one has sleds or snow clothes, but all the kids loved these sleds!

Doyle is a snowman! He was outside for most of the 2 days (Backyard is SO nice), and we kept calling different neighbors to come and play with him when the others got too cold.

I love Halloween, and this was our lamest year ever, the boys were just wearing dress up clothes that we had, and I wasn't going to dress up until last week, so I made my costume from sheets and curtains. Logan wanted to be Yoda, but that costume got "lost" so he happily settled for police man.

We (mostly the wonderful Andrew) made our own table! A few weeks ago our table broke when I asked Andrew to move it and it slipped out of his hands and cracked all along the long edge. I was looking for a free or cheap table, and no luck (I sure miss Boston's Freecycle- we got 3 free tables there!), so I said we (mostly me, Lizzy) should build a table. Once we started I thought maybe it was a bad idea to be sanding in my prego condition, and I need to sleep for about 20 hours a day, so I turned it over to Andrew to build, and it is lovely! I made that sweet bench you see there ALL BY MYSELF!

We cut the broken table in half and put the legs on and painted it black to make a nice little hall table that I have wanted for the wall in the living room since we moved in, lucky lucky!

I walked past this pile of boxes the day before we left, and found these little nakeys posing just right.

The boys each got a turn in the big truck for 1 minute each- it was very exciting!

And here you have it- The Nielsen's first time living in a house!!! And for exactly half the price of rent as the last apartment, and no one lives under us to knock anytime someone cries or runs- Life is great!

In less than 2 days we should be on our way, and right now I feel proud. We are packed! Andrew is having a guys night, and I'm just hangin out. I still have a lot to clean, but I need to share my excitement right now- Hooray I did it! It wasn't the funnest week, but now I get to play tomorrow with my friends and eat ice cream and have one last fun day in Boston Metro West, the greatest place on earth (for now). If you ever have the chance to live in Boston- take it! The people are great! The driving is smart! The summer is lovely! The houses are beautiful! The winter is no good, but hey- its only half the year.
And by the way- I hate to move! I was being sarcastic last post. I often say this will be my last move and we will settle down in this next place we are going to, so- this will be our last move! We will live in Nashville for a long time (at least 9 consecutive months for now). We almost lived here for 1 year- so so close, but 2 weeks off, I'll try again next time.We once lived in the same house for 13 months, but no others for a year.

YIKES! We have Wanted Andrew to go to Vanderbilt since last year when he was applying to the schools, he was wait listed last year, and didn't make it in, then this spring he applied to transfer there. It looked like he didn't get in again and we were happy we didn't have to move, but that would be crazy, it is one of our strongest traditions to move far away often, and traditions seam to stick, so Monday night the man called from Vanderbilt, and... HE'S IN! School starts in a week and a half, so he is very busy getting his work done that he all ready did here, like get his interviews ready for next summers internship and lots more, but he still has to finish his full time job off this week. I am packing the house in 4 days total, and on Saturday morning we are loading up a Pensky and headed to Nashville, TN. I am "lucky" enough to have enough practice with this sort of thing, that we are almost ready to go, and are able to still play with friends for our last week here.

Yesterday we went raspberry picking for our last time in New England- I sure will miss this great place and even better friends.

George's Island

George's Island is an old fort from the civil war 7 miles out from Boston. I didn't know it was a fort until the night before we were going, and a fort didn't sound all that fun, but I was committed, so we went.

It all started with a fun boat trip to the Island

Logan started this summer with a big fear of boats, with a canoe, but on the ferry home he was fine :)

Andy loved it!

We found this fun little play, and Logan got to be the big bad wolf (and he did a FANTASTIC job of standing up there smiling)

Then we went exploring the fort and it was SO FUN! This is a pitch black stair case that goes up to a pitch black level, we went up 4 steps and that was scary enough for us.

This was a little boy heaven of running up and down and through all these old buildings.

Can you see how happy these kids are?!

If you go to Boston, you should definitely go to George's Island!

We did the Boston fireworks with our friends the Leymasters

Everyone I talked to before said they wouldn't do it cause there are too many people and it is too crazy

They were wrong. It was perfect! The best fireworks I've ever seen.

And we only had to wait SEVEN hours for our wonderful spot.

This was great! The big road next to the Esplenade was closed, and they put up this big sprinkler in the middle, Boston loves sprinklers, and I love it for that!

We finally did the Freedom Trail! This is the Bunker Hill Monument, we walked up to the top, 294 steep turning stairs, but it felt like alot more holding Andy and Andrew holding Logan. Doyle got his picture cause he made it all the way up and down without help.

Happy Summer! I LOVE summer! I love my boys with blonde hair and tan skin! I love no school for the boys (cause the 2 days a week of Joy school were starting to feel like alot) so we can go to the lake, beach, or splash park every day at any time! I love the hot sweaty days! I love that Andrew is playing with us so often! I love sandy clothes all over the place! I love open windows! I love little bikes! I love camping! I LOVE summer! :)

With the one I love! Andrew finished his last 1L paper last week, and life is so so so good! We can play with Andrew any night or weekend we please! This past year we haven't played much at all, Andrew was studying about 20 hours a day, every day but sunday, but now we have him back and he's better than ever! I'm so happy!

Since I love Andrew so much, I left him alone for finals, to see my family that I love. That means I was stuck with my 3 boys on 1 airplane aisle for 6 hours, brave? Yes! And I will have to do it again soon. The good news, it was 10000000 times better than the last time I did that with only 2 kids, which I can't even write about cause it is too bad to think about.

We have been playing outside! And we have done a few fun things with my love the past few weeks! And in about a month he is DONE with his 1L year! And he has a summer internship here! Life is great!Logan's bowling shoes :)

We went bowling, Doyle loved it so much he made a sign for his room to remember when he went bowling and Dad came!

Happy Patriots day! I hope you celebrated! We went to a battle re-enactment with loud guns and cannons, the boys loved it at first and were booing the red coats, but then it got too crazy and they were nervous. It might be rainy but its not freezing, so it is great!

I found this. Not the cute Andy, but the fancy bugaboo stroller. There it was on the curb with junk all around it and covered in dirt, but it came out clean, and is one of my favorite "freecycles" as my boys say (as I slam on the brakes and turn around to find a lovely piece of trash).

When we moved out here we did not bring any furniture at all, so I have had a very fun time with freecycle and free craigslist and the curb. Last week I was lucky enough to win this beauty from the competitive world of free shopping. When we picked it up it was an ugly old armoire, but with some staining and painting I am pretty proud of this beast!We also found this great baby baby grand piano on the curb, and it was a very exciting find! We have lots of other great thing we have found around here, and I have a lot more fixing projects to do!In other news this is what we have been doing lately... climbing the walls (hahahaha), I'm about done with this cold!

That is how old Baby Andy is! He went to nersury and Logie went to sunbeams, and I have 3 big boys!
We made a kitchenin the closet! I cut the boxes, Doyle colored, Logan glued, and Andy is loving it! He just moves the "food" (jars and legos) from the fridge to the microwave to the oven over and over. He also likes his boots ALOT, and I like him ALOT, yea hes pretty cool.

It was above freezing, and we saw someone in summer clothes, so I looked out the house window and said to Doyle, it looks like we're having a heat wave, then later when we were going outside Doyle wouldn't put on his coat because its a heat wave! And it was! The river was thawed and the thermometer said 34*! It was great while it lasted, but today it was back to 14* :( but I still like it here!

Can you guess the theme? Do you see my fin? I love Halloween! All thanks to my great momma! She always made me great costumes as a kid and helped me to love halloween! I called my mom on wednesday and I said "guess what I'm doing", She guessed sewing costumes (right!) and then laughed because she was sewing a costume for me to wear when I am there next week so I can match with my brother and sisters! Thanks mom!

We picked apples! It was great! Andrew came too! Andy ate the most apples, and we all had fun! We picked 20 pounds of apples, and the boys have now been eating at least 3 a day, and we even made carmel apples tonight!

Logan's new little buddy Bryson- they have been having so much fun together!
Behind me is a big pile of hay, and that is where the children play, but in this picture the children are away. Doyle has a cute new friend, Ava, and he sat by her instead of me on the hayride, then when we got to the pumpkin patch area he said "You go ahead, I'm waiting for Ava". I didn't think I had to worry about him acting like this for at least another 10 years, good thing Andy loves me lots!

His real birthday was on last tuesday, but since Andrew was starting school the day before,and my dad was comming to visit, we decided to celebrate on the saturday before. But the camera fell in the ocean a few weeks before, and I hadn't bought another yet, so we dont have any real birthday pictures. I did make a treat, but didnt have candles, so he blew out a puck light with his brownies, then on tuesday he blew out a lighter (but no treat). Happy birthday!!!

Doyle and Logan LOVE to play jail, so when they heard Spencer (my bro on his mission in Guyuna) was in Jail, they were thrilled! They made this awsome lego jail filled with missionairies and a fire breathing dragon at a window.
Good news- They all got out of jail free.

Isn't she lovely? We live on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the front and middle part. A lot of the houses here have been changed into 2 or 3 appartment kinda things.

this is walking in the front door, well not in, but up.

The floors are our favorite part- 139 years old!

This swirly twirly staircase is also my favorite, its just too bad we had to put in so many baby gates!

The kitchen is also my favotire!
The windows are the perfect height to look down at the park across the street, or the cars and busses passing by.

We all love this! I get a fancy shmancy washer and dryer, and the kids are happy just to watch their clothes spinning around!

Andrew got them some cool BC Law sippies when he bought his books (and spent more on books then we did on all our beds)

I have thought lots of time- it would probably be so much easier if I had an extra room so Andy could have his own. Turns out, I was right! I have no trouble putting the kids to sleep now when Andrews not home, and to make thing even better, we have a playroom- which is way better than I ever even imagined!

They love the bunk beds! Logan says " Im going to have a nap in my bunk bed now" (he didnt really do it, but he goes in and lies down for 2 minutes and then comes back to play)

Moral of the story-

It was worth being homeless for a few weeks to now live in our best place yet!
